As a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), Zahid brings a wealth of expertise to every conversation—whether he’s helping families preserve their legacies, guiding business owners through succession planning, or crafting customized estate plans.

The TEP designation is recognized globally as the gold standard in trust, estate, and wealth planning. It represents not only advanced technical expertise but also a commitment to the highest standards of professional excellence and ethics in guiding families and business owners through complex estate, tax, and succession planning.

Outside of work, Zahid enjoys traveling, hitting the open road on his motorcycle and Corvette, and spending quality time with his family.

Rehan Syed

As a fourth-year student soon to be graduating from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and a Financial Risk Minimization Specialist at Orooj Financial Group, he combines academic insight with real-world experience to help clients protect, grow, and transfer their wealth in the most tax-effective way.

From a young age, he has had a deep passion for financial planning and a strong desire to help others make informed decisions about their financial futures. This passion has driven him to pursue a career where he can make a meaningful impact—guiding individuals and families through personalized financial strategies that align with their goals.

With unparalleled enthusiasm and commitment, he ensures that each client receives thoughtful, high-quality planning tailored to their unique financial needs.

Orooj Syed

At Orooj Financial Group, she is fortunate to wear several hats—all centered around helping both the team and clients thrive. As Office Manager, she ensures that day-to-day operations run smoothly, keeping everything organized, efficient, and client-ready. She takes pride in fostering a supportive environment where both colleagues and clients feel valued and well cared for.

In her role as a Paraplanner and Advisor, she works closely with the advisory team to craft personalized financial strategies, assist with research and planning, and ensure every client receives the attention and clarity they deserve. Whether it’s helping someone prepare for retirement, protect their family, or plan their legacy, she is passionate about turning complex financial concepts into simple, actionable solutions.

With a background in Economics and Communication Technology, and as a licensed LLQP advisor currently pursuing her CFP and CLU designations, she brings both structure and empathy to every aspect of her work. Outside of the office, she enjoys painting, baking, traveling, designing, and spending quality time with family and friends. She is always seeking new opportunities to grow—both personally and professionally.

Iqra Syed

Business Development Manager

Iqra Syed brings a strategic edge and creative mindset to her role as Business Development Manager at Orooj Financial Group. She leads initiatives that strengthen brand visibility, build client relationships, and drive business growth, blending market research with sharp storytelling to position the firm as a trusted financial partner.

With a background in Marketing and Strategic Management from the Schulich School of Business, Iqra is known for her strong communication skills, clean design work, and ability to turn ideas into polished, results-driven campaigns. She thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about making financial services more accessible and engaging.

When she’s not working, you can find Iqra coffee shop hopping, planning her next trip, or adding yet another book to her TBR list.  

Hassan Aziz

Marketing Manager

Hassan is the creative engine behind Orooj Financial’s marketing strategy. As Marketing Manager, he leads the development and execution of initiatives that boost brand visibility, enhance client engagement, and support business growth.

With over a decade of experience in the marketing world, Hassan has worn many hats—digital strategist, content curator, brand architect, and campaign analyst. He thrives at the intersection of creativity and strategy, bringing a unique blend of innovative thinking and data-driven insight to every project. His expertise spans digital strategy, client management, brand voice development, content creation, and performance analytics.

Hassan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management and keeps a close eye on emerging industry trends to ensure Orooj Financial’s marketing remains fresh and impactful. Passionate about storytelling and brand building, he plays a key role in shaping how the firm connects with its clients and community.

When not juggling pixels and performance metrics, you’ll find him on a road trip, hiking trail, or tennis court. For Hassan, marketing isn’t just a job, it’s a craft he is constantly sharpening.

Bharti Dhillon

She is a licensed Office Administrator at Orooj financial Group. With over 10 years of experience, she helps keep things running smoothly behind the scenes—organizing schedules, supporting the team, and ensuring every detail is taken care of. She believes that small things make a big difference and takes pride in creating an efficient, welcoming environment for both clients and colleagues.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and gardening. She is always looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally and strives to make a meaningful impact wherever she can.

Arafa Kiani

Chartered Professional Accountant 

Arafa Kiani, CPA, is a highly accomplished Chartered Professional Accountant with a robust background in public practice and taxation. Her professional journey includes valuable experience at two of Canada’s premier professional services firms—MNP LLP and KPMG LLP.

At MNP LLP, Arafa built a strong foundation in assurance, working on audit, review, and compilation engagements for a diverse range of clients. She later advanced her career at KPMG LLP, where she specialized in real estate taxation. There, she refined her expertise in tax compliance, advisory, and strategic planning tailored to the real estate sector.

Arafa’s professional competencies include preparing corporate and personal tax returns, addressing inquiries from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and drafting clear, high-quality technical memos that effectively communicate complex tax issues. She is currently enrolled in CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program, underscoring her dedication to ongoing professional development and deepening her expertise in Canadian taxation.

Recognized for her precision, commitment to compliance, and strong client service orientation, Arafa delivers technically sound and practical advice. Her ability to bridge technical knowledge with real-world application enables her to help clients navigate the intricacies of assurance and taxation with clarity and confidence.
